Seven Minutes of….Are You Kidding Me???!!!

Really?  Really??? Seven minutes of max BURPEES??!!!  COME ON!!  Anyone could do that!

And you know what??? That is exactly the point.  Our gym, and gyms across the world, have more than 80 athletes registered for the CrossFit Opens.

They post WOD 12.1:  7 minute, max burpees for time.

To my technical geniuses…my muscle up queens and clean and jerk Gods…you’re pissed…I know.  Trust me, I pray for the 155 power clean for multiple reps, 300 double-under combo to come up…but it won’t; at least not in the Opens.

You see, you say this WOD is so “easy”, anyone can do it.  And, sure they can.  Even my mom could throw down a burpee or two in seven minutes; but can she throw down one hundred?  Or, 150?  Or maybe the max possible, 210 (we’ve done the math~anyone claiming more can take an all expenses trip to Branford, CT and I’ll personally judge them) ???

Sometimes~most times~the scariest WODs are the ones that anyone can do.  Because then, it comes down to the one thing that I CANNOT teach you:  HEART

PURE HEART…

Do you have it???!

This was 60 burpees inside of a scary-A$# workout. I was petrified of them...and don't you know, they ended up being the BEST part???!!! Wrap your head around them~~

    My strategy for 7 minutes of burpees will be to keep a steady pace throughout the whole 7 minutes and just keep going. I would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to Joscelin for helping during Wednesday’s WOD. It was another attempt for me at dbl unders and they really got me. I was good for the 10, 20 even getting 30 in a row getting cocky. Then I lost my rhythm. I couldn’t get one off on the 40 and the time is ticking. My exhaustion and frustration was sinking in as well. LP and Joscelin got me going for the 40 and Joscelin stayed with me for the 50 and for the 60. I went to the warehouse to get out of the way of 630 class and she came with me. I finished in 28 something with a big RX and that was because of my Crossfitting ally cheerleader Joscelin who was encourgaing me the whole time. So thank you so much Joscelin. I really appreciated and needed the love to finish ~

    I know I’m on hiatus from SCF, but I did the burpees for 7 minutes and completed 81. Not great, but then again, I’m not in Crossfit shape at the moment. You guys should be able to kill it!
