Ok guys, so CrossFit does a lot for us besides getting us in shape. The one thing that CrossFit does that you won’t get from any other program is the mental fortitude it provides as well as becoming a stronger athlete. Balancing gaining strength while also trying to develop your speed, accuracy, agility, balance, coordination, flexibility, stamina, endurance, and power is a whole other world. Almost sounds like real life doesn’t it? Trying to better yourself while working long hours, spending time with your family, and any other activities you may be involved with. Sure CrossFit will improve you physically; it will do things like help you lose the weight, it will help you get those abs. The mental conditioning you gain from CrossFit is unparalleled to anything else out there. I know that since doing CrossFit I’ve applied a similar attitude when I’m approached with a difficult task that I am faced with and you know I am going to attack that sh*t, it’s the only way I know how to approach things now. I’ve got CrossFit to thank for that.
Also, I thought since we have quite a few new members we could revisit GOALS. Many of you more seasoned Shoreline CrossFitters may have reached a goal and moved on to another. I constantly hear people say things like ”I really want to be able to do this WOD with the Rx’d weight” or “I want a heavier snatch” or “I want to do pull ups without the blue band”. That’s great that you guys are ambitious. Just like in the real world it is really helpful and healthy to set goals. Knowing where you want to go and how to get there are important to being successful. When setting your goals, just make sure that your goals are realistic and attainable. Combine that mental conditioning you’re getting and combine that with motivation and I guarantee the goals will be accomplished.
There were approximately 18 people at the 5:30 class this a.m. — love it!!!
Linda – you rock! Was awesome counting for you and watching you plough through the first 23 thrusters without pause!
