I Bet’cha Wish it was 2/02/02 Again!
WOD, 09/09/09:
(I couldn’t pass this up!)
9 rounds for time of:
9 pull-ups
9 burpees
9 dips
9 box jumps
9 Hang Power Cleans (999 lbs..J/k..135/95)
I just can stop thinking about what a FABULOUS CrossFit weekend we all had! I know I’ve said it a THOUSAND times ( hey…I am a teacher after all), but leaving CrossFit Milford to embark on the Shoreline experience was very difficult for me. Yes, I was scared that I wouldn’t have Jay to refer clients to that, “stumped” me with questions. Yes, I was worried that CrossFit would now fully dominate my life, leaving no time for my other job, religion, and family. Yes, I feared it would “break our pockets” to own a gym (no new shoes?…Dynamax balls instead?!!!)…but my number one fear was the loss of community with my crew in Milford, and the lack of community on the Shoreline…HOW WRONG I WAS! Not only have you guys forged friendships already, but you have meshed with the Milford community! My wish was that this would happen, but my assumption was that it would take a year, at least…well, you know what they say about those who ASSume.
Today at the gym, a not-so-rare occurrence happened: the 4:30 class ran overtime. I had to start the 5:30 while some athletes from the 4:30 were still WODing. I was nervous that I would have to turn down the music while someone was still throwing their blood, sweat, and tears into the “Kevin Loves Carbs” WOD. But, then I realized something: the remainder of the 4:30 class was the “music” for that final athlete. They all cheered, clapped, and pushed OUR athlete forward. Not a single person had even considered leaving until that final name was printed on the white board.
So, thank you. You guys ROCK, and will continue to do so.
Now, some AWESOME pics from this weekend of CrossFit Festivities:

Look who's in the lead (but, not for long!!)

Blanco (orange shorts) crosses the finish line of the 20 K (not bad POSE running form for 12 miles in!)

Jacob crossed the finish line of the 20 K and still had energy to cheer on other CrossFitters.

I had a great time hanging out with all of the Shoreline Crossfitters this weekend-at the group workout in Milford, the road race and BBQ-everyone did awesome-I can’t wait to come by and work out with everyone

HEY, ENDURANCE ATHLETES AT SCF:
Check out the utube video on http://www.crossfitendurance.com today. It is Kim B. of Elm City CrossFit (Hamden), formerly from CrossFit Milford. She ran with us (well, maybe the first 20 yards) on Monday and she discusses the record she set in the 20 k, and her training leading up to it. It is short, sweet, and to the point. GO KIM!!!!

Being the go-getter as he is, Blanco did today’s workout both RX’d and Full Power Clean instead of from the “Hang” position. He could’ve shaven a few minutes off his time. Nice work Benny Blanco!
Also, yesterday Blanco and McWalter posted more info about a few more Road Races to come. Check it out and let us know if your interested.
