WOD 8/28/09:
“Nate”
AMRAP in 20 Minutes of:
2 Muscle ups
4 Hand Stand Push Ups
8 Kettlebell Swings (2 pood/1.5 pood)
STOP FREAKING OUT! I can hear you all now: “I can’t do muscle ups! What the heck is a hand stand push up??!! 70 lb. kettlebell swings???!!!”
Remember: we are “universally scalable.” If you lack muscle ups (which 99% of the people I have trained could NOT DO when I first met them), you will sub in 6 pull-ups (reg., banded, or jumping) and 6 dips. If you can’t do handstand push ups, there are 3 possible modifications. And, as always, the kettlebell weight can be adjusted. If you still think that you cannot do it…WE NEED TO MODIFY YOUR ATTITUDE…
And, to the title of the post…
You all remember the story…the little engine…he was the littlest…the weakest…but why did he make it up the GIANT hill??? Because he believed he could.

CrossFit is no different. In my CrossFit Career, I have seen that the game is to the MENTALLY fit…We all need to tell ourselves that WE CAN DO IT…Trust me, I’ve failed time and time again because I’ve lacked this skill; however, when I look at my successes, I realize that what got me there, was my attitude…I’ve always been strong enough, fast enough, powerful enough, but what takes it up to SUPER-POWER NINJA FIRE-BREATHER CrossFitter is when you can look at yourself and say, “I think I can!!”

On another note, we are now on facebook as Shoreline CrossFit (‘lots ‘o pics), get to Milford on 9/5 @ 9am for the group challenge, and sign your butt up for the NEW HAVEN ROAD RACE ON 9/7. The gym is closed that day. Who’s in??? Comment…

If I had HALF of the determination and dedication that Chris has at 17, the world would have to WATCH OUT...so, WATCH OUT!!!
I'm really pissed I can't make the challange but I'm in for the road race. I'm gonna get real crazy and try the 20k….sh*t!!!
i think i am going to go for the 20k…. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! unfortunately ill be away for the group challenge!!

Unfortunatly i have to take a second straight rest day. School and Work today. Ill just do a little stretching on my own time and then come back for sat, sun, mon.
